Hi
My name is Douglas Ian Kelly, I just registered a few days ago on this site to support the ideology and concept of classical music on electric instruments such as the electric guitar and electric bass. I once more thank both; Theron and Oscar for giving me the opportunity to be a part of this project.
On to business!, I would like to share some information on my current gear:
Bass: Ibanez SG-300 (Soundgear Left-handed series) with a glossy black finish. (Tuners and bridge are Ibanez and are the originals that came with the bass). The P-pickup is an active Seymour Duncan quarter-pounder, the J-pickup is the original that came with the bass.
This bass is currently discontinued, another left-handed series is available and is very similar to the SG-300).
Strings: D'Addario .50-.105 Roundwound.
Strap: Standard black Levi's strap.
Amp/Head: Peavey Nitrobass, 450 watts into 2 Ω, 300 watts into 4 Ω, 170 watts into 8 Ω (I use it @ 4 Ω). I got on ebay for $125 in like new condition! (new ones cost around $250).

Speakers/Gabinet: Avatar 2x10 Celestion Speakers @ 4 Ω (Max power: 550 Watts).

The head and gabinet I have are so far the best equipment I have ever owned. 5 Years and not a single problem! the head and gabinet still sound like new!.
Pedals/accessories: Dunlop MXR + Distortion (It gives a richer tone and sound to the whole EQ, therefore giving the final tone a better sound, I rarely use the distortion), Dunlop Wah-Wah pedal for bass (I rarely use it, but It might come in handy). Planet Waves 20 Ft., 10 Ft. and 3 Ft. cables (speaker cable).
Tuners: Unknown discontinued KORG pedal tuner (I do not own it).
Feel free to add any comments, suggestions and/or questions!
One thing I would like to get rid of, is that earth buzzing sound from my speakers. The head has a switch that reduces the noise but it is not enough. The sound goes away when I touch the strings, it is a terrible noise that interferes with the music so I always tend to have my fret hand or my picking hand on the strings all the time to prevent the buzzing sound.
